Dance Arts Los Alamos :: Our Community

Our Responsibility

DALA is dedicated to promoting dance in Los Alamos and Northern New Mexico by providing safe, professional instruction and quality performances

During the COVID-19 pandemic, DALA was awarded a $1,000 Grant from The RDC. The Regional Development Corporation (RDC) is a private non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to improving economic development in Northern New Mexico.

In 2019 & 2021, DALA applied for and was awarded a $1,500.00 Grant for studio improvements & expenses. The improvement program is currently on hold during COVID. We will update you all as soon as we have information. Thank you so much for this opportunity and your dedication to our community.

In 2015, the Los Alamos Historical Society archived the original “Nutcracker on ‘The Hill’” into the History books. The Historical Society is an integral part of our historic Nutcracker production. Thank you Aimee Slaughter and Elizabeth Martineau for your help with Nutcracker and everything you do to preserve Los Alamos history.

In 2013, DALA was invited to perform at the Art Gallery at Fuller Lodge. Since then the Art Center has helped with props and set pieces for most productions. Thank you Ken Nebel for your ongoing support and all you do for our Community!!

Donations

As a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organization Dance Arts Los Alamos is eligible to receive donations through several programs.

AmazonSmile Amazon will donate to a charitable organization of your choice when you shop at AmazonSmile. To enroll, navigate to amazonsmile.com and login to your Amazon account. You will be prompted to choose an organization to support. Search for Dance Arts Los Alamos and select. Be sure to navigate to AmazonSmile when you shop and DALA will receive quarterly donations from Amazon. AmazonSmile now has an app for your phone, so it’s easier than ever to remember to shop at AmazonSmile.

Smith’s Inspiring Donations Smith’s Food and Drug offers donations to organizations through Inspiring Donations. You will need to login to your Smith’s account on a computer (this usually doesn’t work in the app). Choose Inspiring Donations from the list on the right, and then search for Dance Arts Los Alamos. It’s organization OB400. If you have enrolled in the past, you want want to login to check. Inspiring Donations requires you to re-enroll each year.

Triad Employee Giving  Triad offers matching donations to organizations of your choice. If you or a family member is a Triad employee and would like to make a donation to DALA, login to employee giving and choose Dance Arts Los Alamos as your organization. At this time, Triad is matching 50% of employee donations.

As always, any direct donations to Dance Arts Los Alamos are gratefully accepted and 100% tax deductible.  Please let your friends and new neighbors know about our dance school.  We are excited to welcome the many new people that have moved to Los Alamos to DALA.
